I am not a crochet beginner and still i got this wrong over and over again. Only when i started doing less crochets than she was telling us to do, it suddenly worked. When she said to do 6 double crochets, i had to do 5 for it to be correct, im just so so confused why no one else in the comments noticed it, am i doing something wrong? and if so, what is it? please help

Diamond granny skirt. I had started in may from a different skirt i had made in granny stitch because it was too big, I ran out of yarn making squares and decided to wait until i could afford to buy another ball. The other day I decided to put together what I have and see if its big enough without needing another ball of yarn
